SAIA KS – Satellite based Agri-Insurance Assistance
This feasibility study demonstrated that detecting damage as part of insurers’ claim management, as well as assessing the risk for individual fields, is technically possible, is in demand by users, and that a viable business model can be developed.
It emerged that damage caused by weather events such as hail, heavy rain or drought can be determined very well using both optical satellite data and radar satellite data.
